Let us help you plan your weekend

Winter hath bared its cruel fangs and is preparing to bite our collective doughy hides this weekend. But I beseech thee, do not cower under your blankets, there's just too much to do here in the fine city of Chicago! Just look!

  • Tonight at 7pm, Steve Blush will be discussing the newly expanded second edition of 2001's AMERICAN HARDCORE: A TRIBAL HISTORY at Quimby's. There's a part about Chicago. You can ask him about it.
  • Take a "tour" of Chicago with the Poetry Performance Incubator's collectively written piece, Tour Guides. The show promises a "lyrical tour of the Chicago tourists never see." See it this Friday or Saturday at 7:30pm at the Chicago Center for the Performing Arts, 777 N. Green St., Chicago. Tickets available at the door.
  • To celebrate the release of The Kenning Anthology of Poets Theater: 1945-1985, Kenning Editions has partnered with Oracle Productions for a unique launching party this Sunday. The show will include a performance of Poets Theater, a discussion, and hors d’oeuvres. The entire thing will be written 48 hours prior to the performance by six poets: Daniel Borzutzky, Duriel E. Harris, John Keene, Jacob Saenz, Leila Wilson, and recent ACM contributor Tim Yu. The show is free but attendees are encouraged to RSVP in advance. 7:30pm on Dec. 5th at the Oracle Theater, 3809 N. Broadway.
